Ed Talks About The Upcoming Memorial Day Ceremony At The National Cemetary

The annual Memorial Day Ceremony Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 1:00 P.M.The ceremony will begin with a Parade of Colors led by all participating organizations.

Master of Ceremonies will be Francis McDonald Chairman of the Joint Veterans Committee. Welcoming remarks will be given by Cemetery Director Richard Wallace.The Dedham American Legion Band will provide the musical selections (The Air Force Song).The guest speaker will be Daniel R. Sitterly, Assistant Secretary for Human Resources and Administration/Operations, Security, and Preparedness.

Many veterans’ organizations will present wreaths in honor of their comrades who have served their country for those who have fallen in battle.The Firing of the Volleys will be done by the Bourne VFW and American Legion.TAPS will be played by Analise Rogers, Bourne High School student.

Please join the Massachusetts National Cemetery Joint Veterans Committee as they honor our men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice serving their country.

This ceremony is being held on Sunday the 26 May 2019 rain or shine, so that we do not conflict with local town observances on the actual holiday, May 27, 2019.
