Cold Weather Impacts County Dredging Operations

The extreme cold has impacted the county's dredging efforts with much of Sesuit Harbor in Dennis frozen.

Over the weekend, the frozen waters temporarily iced-in the county dredge Cod Fish Two.

Officials say operations will resume as the ice conditions improve and the harbors clears.

The Sand Shifter dredge has been able to work in the Parker's River Approach Channel in Yarmouth, where conditions have been less severe.

The county says, however, that sustained milder temperatures are needed to fully resume dredging operations.
