BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) — Vice President Mike Pence is urging furloughed federal workers to call their local congressional representative to end the current Federal Shutdown Tuesday.
"I want to tell them: My fellow Americans to pick the phone and call their congressman and call their senator. I mean truthfully, this President [Trump] over the last three weeks...and I've been shoulder to shoulder with him every step of the way, has been working in good faith to keep his promise to the American people to address the problem at our Southern Border. That requires...walls work Howie you know that" Pence said.
The Vice-President spoke by phone with Boston based talk show host Howie Carr on the popular drive-time talk show which airs on WRKO-AM, a sister station of WBZ NewsRadio.
"I mean the reality is we are not going to have border security without a barrier on our Southern Border. Now we can also have the additional technologies we need it those are all part of our proposal, additional personnel we need it. Those are all part of our proposal," Pence said.
In addition to speaking about the Government Shutdown and federal employees working without a paycheck, Pence and Howie discussed President Donald Trump tribute to Clemson's football team for winning the national college championship at the White House Monday.
Trump honored the players with a fast food feast that included hamburgers, pizza and french fries.
