The Association to Preserve Cape Cod is warning folks about some freshwater swimming spots to avoid this holiday weekend.
Tops on the list is Cliff Pond in Brewster and Flax Pond in Yarmouth where use is restricted due to the presence of cyanobacteria, which can make people and pets sick.
Spots ID'd as potential for concern include Gooseberry, Hinckley and Sam ponds in Barnstable, as well as Wequaquet Lake.
West Reservoir in Harwich is also on the same list along with Wakeby Pond in Mashpee, Sheep Pond in Brewster, and Uncle Harveys Pond in Orleans.
