Yarmouth Voters Reject Funding For New Library At Town Meeting

Yarmouth is saying goodbye to a state grant of more than 13-million-dollars for a new library.

Voters at town meeting fell seven votes shy of the two-thirds majority needed for a 36-million-dollar library funding package to pass.

This is nothing new for Yarmouth as library proposals have been floated for four decades.

Other big spending measures did pass, including Proposition two-and-a-half overrides to support the D-Y School District and Cape Tech.
