Cape And Islands Awarded Nearly 1-Point-4-Million In HUD Funding

The Cape and Islands has been awarded nearly one-point-four-million-dollars as part of HUD's annual Continuum of Care Competition Awards.

The funding helps nonprofit and government providers quickly rehouse those experiencing homelessness.

The contracts will fund CoC projects through 2027, including the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program Host Homes and Comprehensive Support for Youth and Young Adults programs operated by the Homeless Prevention Council.

Barnstable County's Director of Human Services Joseph Pacheco says the funding will allow the region to continue providing critical services to those needing them most.
