Yarmouth Police Department Say Drug Take Back Day Was A Success

The Yarmouth Police Department says the DEA National Drug Take Back Day was a big success.

On Saturday, the community turned in 261 pounds of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription medications for proper destruction.

Police say residents don't have to wait until the next drug take back to get rid of their unwanted medications since a drop-off kiosk is available in the lobby of the Yarmouth Police Department year-round.

Officials say since 2010 the initiative has resulted in the collection of nearly two-million-pounds of pharmaceutical waste across New England.
