A Sandwich man has been charged with the theft of federal funds and wire fraud connected to stolen food and kitchen equipment for a privately-run beach snack bar.
The U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts says between 2014 and 2025,
Patrick Van Cott allegedly stole the items for use and sale at his private business Snack Shack at Sandy Neck Beach Park in Barnstable.
Van Cott was the Director of Food Services for Plymouth Public Schools when he allegedly spent thousands of dollars on refrigerators, freezers, condiments, paper goods and food using school funds.
Van Cott will make an initial appearance in Boston federal court at a later date.
