A new set of Forever stamps will soon debut featuring Cape Cod's Mercy Otis Warren and other Americans who helped to shape the outcome of the American Revolution.
The U.S. Postal Service says the first-day-of-issue event for the new Figures of the American Revolution stamps will take place from Friday, April 10th through Sunday, April 12th.
Mercy Otis Warren was born in Barnstable in 1728 and was a trusted advisor and correspondent to many of the leading figures of the American Revolution.
She authored plays, poems, and political writings that challenged British rule and later became one of the first historians of the Revolution.
