Gov. Healey Blaming COVID for $364M in SNAP Payment Errors

Governor Maura Healey is blaming COVID for the 364 million dollars worth of SNAP payment errors in 2024.

This comes after reports of the Biden administration's USDA sending a letter urging her to clean up the state's food stamps program.

Massachusetts received over two billion dollars in federal SNAP funding that year, resulting in about 364 million dollars in erroneous payments, of which 338 million dollars were overpayments.

Healey claimed last week that allegations of fraud in Massachusetts are simply a "distraction" by President Trump to shift focus away from what she says are his failed policies.
