Cape Cod Healthcare To Hold More Than A Dozen Blood Drives This Month

Cape Cod Healthcare is facing a critical blood shortage following donation cancellations due to the winter storm.

Officials say every donation is essential to help Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital maintain at least a week's supply and every unit that's collected saves lives.

There are a number of blood drives scheduled to take place across the county during the month of March, with the first three taking place this week in Chatham, Harwich and Hyannis.

The blood drives will continue through March 31st. Appointments can be made through the Cape Cod Healthcare Blood Donor Portal.

In addition, donations can be made directly at the Nicholas G. Xiarhos Blood Donor Center at Cape Cod Hospital.
