During a Thursday meeting, the Eastham Select Board voted to declare a local state of emergency in response to the ongoing conditions affecting the community.
The declaration enables local emergency management officials to access additional state and regional resources, secure supplemental funding and coordinate more effectively with partner agencies.
Town officials say the action aims to accelerate assistance, restore services and ensure the safety and well-being of residents as recovery efforts move forward.
