Utility crews are responding to reports of downed trees and wires across the Cape and Islands after the blizzard left thousands without power.
Eversource has reported widespread damage to both distribution and transmission systems across Cape Cod and additional crews from off-Cape will start to arrive this morning to assist.
Eversource President of Massachusetts Electric Operations Doug Foley says crews from New Hampshire and Western Massachusetts will support restoration efforts since work has been completed in their service areas.
Each Cape Cod municipality has been assigned a dedicated Eversource liaison to coordinate local priorities that include blocked roads, downed wires and electrical hazards.
Officials say some restoration efforts may extend into Wednesday or longer as crews work to access damaged areas and complete repairs.
