A woman is dead and a man is missing after they fell through the ice on Bee's River at First Encounter Beach.
Eastham Police and Fire were called at around 9 a.m. Saturday for a report of an unattended, distressed dog and they saw a woman in the water.
Two officers tried to rescue her, but both fell through the ice and had to return to the shore.
Dive teams searched for the woman, and when they found her at around 11 a.m., she was pronounced dead. Investigators say the woman's husband was with her and he likely fell through the ice as well.
Crews searched for the man Saturday, but could not find him.
On Sunday, police carried out drone and foot searches but could not locate the victim.
Officials have called off the searches until ice conditions change, so public safety personnel can access the water.
The names of those involved are being held to protect their privacy.
