Winter Storm Watch From Sunday Morning Through Monday Evening

Cape Cod will be under a Winter Storm Watch from Sunday morning through Monday evening.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service say heavy snow is expected with accumulations of six to 12-inches and more possible in some locations.

Roads, bridges and overpasses are expected to be slick and anyone who has to be on the roads should be prepared for hazardous conditions.

The public is asked to delay all travel if possible.

The Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee urges residents to prepare now for this weekend's snowstorm.

In addition to making sure supplies are on hand, residents should make sure their phones, and essential devices are charged in case of power outages.

In addition, home heating systems should be checked to make sure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working properly.

Time outdoors should be limited during the storm and extreme cold and pets should be brought indoors.

Residents should also check on their neighbors, especially those who are older and may need extra help.
