Four of 13 properties being taken over to make way for the new Sagamore Bridge are in state control.
A deal for the fourth property is wrapping up this week while negotiations for the other nine are continuing.
The homes are being taken under eminent domain laws that allow the government to pay a fair market price for private properties to make way for public projects.
Property owners are being given at least four months to find a new place to live and are also being compensated for relocation expenses.
