Roofing Adhesive Spill Behind Delays Near Bourne South Rotary

A hazmat spill of sorts is to blame for traffic delays Tuesday approaching the Bourne South Rotary.

Police say a truck lost several barrels of roofing adhesive on southbound MacArthur Boulevard shortly before 11 a.m., leading to a longstanding lane closure for cleanup.

It took hours for crews to tackle the sticky situation, and the roadway didn't fully reopen until around 5:00.

Some social media comedians called for crews to spread out the adhesive, saying it could make for the best stretch of road on the Cape.
