Massachusetts lawmakers are raising concerns after American forces took control of two Venezuelan oil tankers as part of a Trump administration effort to stabilize the country.
The administration says the move is part of a broader plan that includes overseeing the flow and sale of Venezuela's oil.
Several Democratic members of Congress say they were not notified ahead of time and are questioning the legality and oversight of the operation.
White House officials are expected to meet with oil company representatives later this week as the plan moves forward.
