Cape Cod Healthcare Hosting Blood Drives Through January

Cape Cod Healthcare is hosting blood drives throughout January which is National Blood Donor Month.

The first blood drive takes place today at the Harwich Police Department from 10:40 a.m. until 5 p.m.

While visiting the hospital Monday, State Representative Steve Xiarhos encouraged the public to roll up their sleeves to help save lives.

The center is named for his son Nicholas, a Marine killed in 2009 while serving in Afghanistan.

The family has held a blood drive in Nick's memory every year since his death.

This year, the Nicholas G. Xiarhos Annual Memorial Blood Drive will take place on February 6th and 7th in West Yarmouth.
