MassDEP Awards 90K Grant To Expand Cape Cod Food Rescue Network

Barnstable has been awarded a 90-thousand-dollar Sustainable Materials Recovery Program grant from MassDEP.

The funding will expand food rescue operations so the surplus from wholesalers, restaurants, and grocery stores is delivered to residents in need instead of being discarded.

Commissioner Sheila Lyons says the program ensures that perfectly good food reaches the people who need it most.
