Orleans Voters Approve New Downtown Zoning District

During this week's town meeting, Orleans voters approved a new downtown zoning district that aims to encourage more housing for families and young people.

Article 2 establishes an overlay district to promote year-round, attainable housing and mixed-use development in the sewered downtown area.

Residents also voted to pass a tax exemption for landlords who rent to year-round residents that have qualifying incomes.
