The next phase of renovations at Sandy Neck Beach Park are scheduled to begin next week.
Starting on Wednesday, November 12th, contractors hired by the Town of Barnstable will begin efforts that will include moving the park's iconic gatehouse inland.
The goal of the project is to protect Barnstable's lone public beach on Cape Cod Bay by strengthening the dune ecosystem and moving its vulnerable public infrastructure.
Officials say access to the park's Off-Road Vehicle Trail and its Upper and Lower parking lots will be closed and the Marsh Trail will only be open to foot traffic.
