Yarmouth Police Arrest Woman On Sex Trafficking Charges

Yarmouth police have arrested a woman on sex trafficking charges. In September, an officer saw a suspicious incident at a grocery store parking lot and he stopped one of the drivers.

The officer says the passenger appeared to need help and he learned that Rina Hernandez-Alcantara of Sandwich, allegedly coordinated and transported the woman to provide sexual acts for money.

After the investigation the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office issued a warrant for Hernandez-Alcantara and she was arrested Wednesday. Hernandez-Alcantara has been charged with Trafficking of a Person for Sexual Servitude and released on 500-dollars bail.

No additional information is being released.
