The Town of Chatham will be hosting an emergency training exercise this week.
Multiple local and regional agencies will be taking part in Thursday's training that will take place in the late afternoon and evening on the east side of Chatham, including Pleasant Bay, Ryder's Cove, Crow's Pond and Chatham Harbor.
The exercise will simulate an onshore, offshore, and aerial search and there will be increased activity, emergency vehicles and personnel in the area.
The public is asked to avoid the area if possible. Officials say there is no need for alarm, the activity is a scheduled preparedness exercise to coordinate response capabilities.
