Feds Freeze Funds For Cape Cod Bridges Over Shutdown

The ongoing federal government shutdown has caused the freeze of funds designed to help pay for the replacement of the Cape Cod bridges.

The Trump administration has announced a pause of eleven-billion-dollars worth of projects because of the shutdown nationwide.

The federal government has earmarked 350-million-dollars towards the replacement of the Sagamore Bridge, and 250-million for the new Bourne Bridge.

State officials estimate replacing both bridges will cost well over four-billion-dollars in total.
