Medicare Open Enrollment is now underway, and Barnstable County is reminding residents that SHINE [[ Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone ]] is available to help.
SHINE counselors can help Medicare beneficiaries, and their caregivers navigate the system and explain how it works in everyday language.
Counselors can also help with health insurance enrollment and finding programs to help people with limited resources pay for health insurance costs.
Appointments can be made through local Council on Aging offices or the Regional SHINE Program.
Medicare Open Enrollment runs until December 7th.
