Falmouth Man Remains Held Without Bail For Alleged School Shooting Plot

An 18-year-old Falmouth man remains held without bail after his arrest for an alleged school shooting plot.

Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois says Falmouth Police began investigating Ian Fotheringham in August after receiving information that he reportedly wanted to shoot up a school.

A search of Fotheringham's home did not find any illegal firearms.

Earlier this month, safety monitors found a suspicious man in the woods behind a school and police identified him as Fotheringham.

Police say Fotheringham's home contained photos of the Columbine High School shooting, and a search of his home turned up a 3D printer capable of producing a firearm. Fotheringham was taken into custody and arraigned on Friday.

He will be in Barnstable District Court for a hearing tomorrow on a motion to be held as a danger to the community.
