South Dennis Man Pleads Guilty To Threatening Federal Official

A South Dennis man has admitted to threatening violence against a federal official and their relatives.

Sixty-two-year-old Michael Mahoney pleaded guilty to transmitting interstate threats to injure another person.

A relative of the official received a threatening phone call in March and the investigation led to Mahoney. Law enforcement went to Mahoney's home, but he refused to answer the door or his phone and was later arrested.

Mahoney faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to 250-thousand-dollars when he's sentenced in October.
