Some Cape Cod police departments are taking part in this week's National Night Out.
The intent of the annual event is to raise awareness about community policing and build stronger relationships between police and the residents they serve.
Local department's involved include Dennis, and Yarmouth tonight and Mashpee Wednesday evening.
The Dennis event is in front of the Police Department from 4 to 8pm.
The Yarmouth event is slated for Mattacheese Middle School Fields from 5 to 8.
Mashpee Police will host an event from 5-30p to 7-30pm tonight at the Public Safety Complex.
