Protest Planned as JD Vance Heads to Nantucket for High-Dollar Fundraiser

Vice President JD Vance is set to attend a private Republican fundraiser on Nantucket tonight, but Cape Codders are planning to protest.

Indivisible chapters from the Cape and Islands, along with activist Amanda McGonigle of Falmouth, are organizing a demonstration near Nantucket Memorial Airport.

They say Vance's recent Senate vote slashing Medicaid and food assistance programs prompted the backlash.

The fundraiser costs up to 250-thousand dollars per couple, raising concerns among Cape residents about policy decisions favoring the wealthy.

Organizers are calling the protest "Meowtucket" and expect a strong local turnout.

The Vice President is not scheduled to meet with reporters.
