The Cape Cod Gateway Airport Commission has voted unanimously to appoint Michael Nelson as manager of Cape Cod Gateway Airport.
Nelson has been serving as the interim manager of daily operations since April.
Nelson has more than three decades of experience in airport operations, air traffic control and FAA leadership.
As manager he will handle operations, regulatory compliance, capital improvement planning, fuel and lease management and community relations.
He will also make sure that all federal, state and local requirements are met and serve as the primary liaison with the Town of Barnstable, FAA, the TSA and other stakeholders.
