The Cape and Islands Regional Network on Homelessness has released its 2025 findings from the Annual Point in Time Count.
The count that was conducted on the night of January 28th found the number of homeless on the Cape and Islands was 365 - down by 203 from last year.
The number included adults, children, sheltered and unsheltered individuals.
The number of people in emergency shelters increased by 163 and officials attribute that to a winter response overflow day.
Temperatures on the night of the count were around 32-degrees and additional overflow shelter beds were activated.
