DHS Names Barnstable, Dukes, Nantucket Counties As Sanctuary Jurisdictions

The Trump Administration has named the Cape and Islands as sanctuary jurisdictions.

Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties are on the list of U.S. locations that the Department of Homeland Security says are deliberately obstructing the enforcement of federal immigration laws.

The DHS says each jurisdiction on the list will receive formal notification of its non-compliance and all potential violations of federal criminal statutes.

The DHS is demanding that the jurisdictions immediately review and revise their policies to align with federal immigration laws.
