Nor'easter Leads To Flooding, Downed Trees, Power Outages, Water Rescues

A late-spring Nor'easter led to flooding, downed trees, power outages and water rescues across the Cape and Islands on Thursday.

A lightning strike may be to blame for at least one house fire and downed wires apparently sparked a small brush fire in Barnstable.

Damage from the storm is widespread with reports of roadways left impassable because of fallen trees and high water.

Emergency personnel will be surveying the damage throughout the day and utility crews are working to restore power.

Some parts of the Cape have reported up to five inches of rainfall.
