Dennis Voters Make Some Interesting Town Election Choices

Expect the unexpected is the takeaway from this week's town election in Dennis.

A pair of incumbents were voted out of their positions, including longtime moderator Robert Chamberlain, who was defeated by William Carmichael, and Diane Chamberlain, whose post on the Water District Commission is going to Joseph Walker.

Three constables were elected, but two were write-in candidates who scored a grand total of six votes between them.

The other head-scratcher came when voters approved the proposal to spend eight-million-dollars on rebuilding Sesuit Harbor - the same proposal that was shot down at last week's town meeting.
