No Working Smoke Detectors Found After Fatal Nantucket House Fire

The State Fire Marshal says no working smoke detectors were found at the scene of a deadly house fire in Nantucket.

The Tuesday night fire on Green Meadows Drive claimed the life of 62-year-old Peter Gurley.

Investigators say they found six disabled smoke alarms that had dead batteries or no batteries.

The also found smoking materials and several devices plugged into a power strip and neither ignition sources could be ruled out as the cause of the fire.
