Barnstable Police Arrest Suspect In Dollar Tree Stabbing

Barnstable Police have arrested a suspect after a stabbing at a Dollar Tree store in Hyannis.

Police say 31-year-old Nikolas Rescigno was taken into custody at the Festival Plaza after he allegedly stabbed a teenaged girl on Thursday afternoon.

The teen was in the foyer of the store with her mother when she was cut on the lower backside, and she suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Rescigno faces charges that include assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say he is also wanted on an outstanding warrant for a 2023 knife-related incident at the Cape Cod Mall.
