The Brewster Fire Department has issued a temporary outdoor burning ban due to the current weather conditions.
Officials say the unseasonable warm temperatures, lack of rain, low humidity and high winds are creating conditions that can cause wildfires to quickly spread.
The ban includes fires in chimneys, fire pits and outdoor fireplaces.
In addition, residents should use caution with lawnmowers, leaf blowers, all-terrain vehicles and other power equipment that can become hot enough to ignite dry leaves and grass.
