Barnstable County Woman Found Not Guilty In Stabbing Death

It's not clear if the woman found not guilty in a deadly stabbing in Harwich will be deported for overstaying her H-2B visa.

Aneka Brown was acquitted by a Barnstable County jury last week in the 2022 death of Akeem Drysdale after trial evidence showed she was the victim of intimate partner violence.

Brown's visa ran out as she was being held ahead of her trial and she is in the custody of ICE.

According to the Cape Cod Times, Brown's defense attorney says she may be applying for asylum based on the Violence Against Women Act.
