Feds Providing Cash To Eversource For Battery Project

Eversource is getting a big chunk of federal money to expand its Outer Cape Microgrid Optimization Project.

The Feds are providing the utility 19-and-a-half-million-dollars to advance a battery energy storage system designed to provide customers stored energy during outages while crews make repairs.

Eversource says the project will be a big boost to storm-prone communities often affected by power outages, including the underserved ones.
