Cyanobacteria Advisory Continues For Seymour, Schoolhouse Ponds

The Brewster Health Department reminds the public that a cyanobacteria advisory remains in effect for Seymour and Schoolhouse ponds because of a persistent, visible bloom that appeared in mid-September.

Health officials and the Brewster Ponds Coalition continue to monitor the ponds, and they will let the public know when the bloom is gone, and the water is safe.

In the meantime, people and pets should avoid contact with the ponds.

Results for the last three monitoring cycles of the ponds can be found at the newly-created Risk Designation Chart at brewsterponds-dot-org.
