There will be a celebration and ceremony Friday to honor Brewster Fire Chief Robert Moran who is retiring after 47 years of service.
There will be a meet and greet from 9 a.m. until noon at the Brewster Fire Department on Main Street and coffee and refreshments will served.
In August, the town's Select Board voted on acting Fire Chief Kevin Varley to succeed Moran.
Varley has served as Brewster's full-time deputy chief since the position was created eight years ago.
