High Risk For Rip Currents In Cape Waters Today

The National Weather Service says there is again a high risk for rip currents in the waters off the Cape today.

Dangerous rip currents are expected in Barnstable County and Nantucket from now until 8:00 tonight.

Officials say rip currents can easily sweep the best swimmers away from shore and out to deeper water.

The best way to escape a rip current is to relax and swim parallel to the shoreline until you're free of the current.
