CT Native- Red Sox Veteran Voice Retires At End Of Season

Longtime voice of the Boston Red Sox, Joe Castiglione, is retiring.

The 77 year old Castiglione made the announcement during yesterday's Yankees - Red Sox game in New York.

He's been on the Boston Red Sox Radio Network for 42 years, the longest play-by-play tenure of any Sox broadcaster.

Earlier this season, Castiglione was awarded the Ford C. Fricke Award for excellence in broadcasting by the Baseball Hall of Fame.
