More Electric Cars To Be Charged Up In State

Federal funding to provide electric vehicle charging stations is coming to the Bay State.

The US Department of Transportation has awarded 16-point-2-million dollars for the installation of affordable public EV charging stations. While most of the money is specific to the city of Boston, the state Department of Conservation and Recreation will receive one-point-two-million dollars for the Public Access EV Charging Program.

Coupled with 300-thousand dollars in DCR funds, this will help set up EV stations in parks across the Commonwealth over the next five years. The program is part of the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s effort to achieve climate and net-zero goals.
