Shell fishing has resumed in Yarmouth’s Lewis Bay.
Last month, operations were shut down after several people fell ill while eating bivalves taken from the bay.
Town officials announced this week that a follow-up examination by the state Division of Marine Fisheries found the bay’s waters and shellfish resources free of bacteria.
An aquaculture site in the Uncle Robert’s Cove portion of the bay remains off-limits.
