Officials Update Hydraulic Fluid Spill In Wellfleet Harbor

Officials have updated the status of their investigation into Sunday's fuel spill in Wellfleet Harbor.

Absorbent booms were used contain the fuel spill and water samples were taken from the harbor and commercial fishing vessels in an effort to identify the source of the spill.

As of Monday afternoon, an additional boat patrol and shore side survey showed no remnants of hydraulic fluid and it was determined that there would be no impacts on shellfish resources, public health and the recreational use of the harbor.

The U.S. Coast Guard continues to lead the investigation into the spill.
