Barnstabe Fire Grant Saves Taxpayers Money

Barnstable Fire is getting a big financial boost from FEMA.

The department got word from the agency last week that its grant application worth nearly a quarter-million-dollars has been approved.

Officials plan to use the money to replace outdated thermal imaging cameras and pay for advanced driver training for the whole department.

Had the grant been denied, the financial burden would have likely fallen on the backs of taxpayers.
