Eleven ducklings were rescued from a storm drain in Brewster on Monday.
A concerned citizen called Brewster Animal Control to report the ducklings and the DPW assisted by lifting the drain cover so they could be scooped up in a net and secured in a carrier.
The mother duck had been calling to the ducklings and watched the rescue from nearby.
Once all the ducklings were accounted for, they were carried to a safe location and released into their mother's care.
