American Airlines Flying High Over Hyannis

Flyers are celebrating the first-ever American Airlines flight from LaGuardia to Hyannis.

The E-175 aircraft touched down at Cape Cod Gateway Airport just after noon Wednesday.

The hour-long trips are part of American's new daily summer service to more than a half-dozen destinations from the Big Apple and Reagan National in DC.

American says it's trying to give people better access to the places they really want to visit.

Flights to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are scheduled to begin on the 22nd.
